The Poxabogue Golf Center’s operation as a municipal golf course started in 2004 when it was purchased from a private party in a joint venture with the Town of East Hampton. Later in 2012, the Town of Southampton purchased the Town of East Hampton share, and since then has operated the course under management contracts.
In 2024 the town board allocated $1.8M dollars for a renovation of the clubhouse and parking area. This project is the culmination of many months of planning - renovations had to be timed just right so that it would have minimal impact to seasonal operations. The proposed scope of work will see the entire exterior of the building get a facelift, new siding, doors, and decking will replace the aging façade and breathe new life into the nearly 70 year old building! In addition some interior renovations will also take place. A small addition to the rear will allow for reconfigured ADA compliant bathrooms, and a new ADA access ramp that allows entry to the pro shop and restaurant will be installed as well. The parking lot updates will take place closer to the spring.
The town expects total completion by Memorial Day weekend, with the pro shop having a soft opening sometime in March.
