Hampton Bays Hamlet Center Pattern Book
The Vision Goals for Hamlet Centers outlined in the adopted Comprehensive Plan include promoting unique, one-of-a-kind shopping; promoting locally-grown small businesses; promoting a unique identity for each center; improving access, circulation, and parking; upgrading public spaces, pedestrian amenities, the streetscape and historic qualities; and promoting civic uses.
Hamlet centers provide a social and economic focus and reflect the character of a given area and the Town as a whole. The design guidelines within the Pattern Book are meant to promote quality development that is attractive, convenient and compatible with surrounding uses. Through use of the Pattern Book, proposed projects will be guided on best practices to contribute to the design objectives for architectural composition, street and landscape design, pedestrian access and overall coordination between uses.
