Honoree Patrick J. Gunn

Patrick Gunn grew up in Queens Village, New York. He enlisted in the United States Navy shortly after high school and was assigned as an Operations Specialist to the Norfolk-based guided missile destroyer U.S.S. Farragut (DDG-37) which served as part of the U.S. Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean Sea during the Lebanon Conflict from 1982-1983. He received the Navy Expeditionary Medal, Sea Service Ribbon, and Commander Sixth Fleet Commendation. Patrick was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in 1984 at the rank of Petty Officer Second Class (E-5).

After receiving his B.A. in History & Politics from Southampton College (LIU) and M.B.A. from C.W. Post, he worked as an adjunct Professor of Business at Southampton College (LIU), attending Touro Law School in the evening. After receiving his J.D. degree and becoming an admitted attorney, Patrick worked as a Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney, East Hampton Assistant Town Attorney, Quogue Village Prosecutor, and solo practice defense attorney. He currently serves as an elected Town Justice for the Town of Southampton.

Patrick lives in Hampton Bays with his wife Jennifer and has two grown children, Caelan and Ryan, as well as a granddaughter Fiona. He is a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 5350 in Westhampton Beach and the Hampton Bays American Legion, Hand-Aldrich Post 924.
