    Band applications are now available for the Southampton Youth Bureau’s 23rd Annual Battle of the Bands. This year’s competition will be held on Friday, June 5th (Rain Date: Friday, June 12th) from 8:00pm – 11:00pm at Ponquogue Beach in Hampton Bays. All applications and demo music must be received by 4:00pm on Friday, May 8th 2026 and can be sent or dropped off to: BATTLE OF THE BANDS – YOUTH BUREAU Southampton Youth Bureau 655 Flanders Road Flanders, NY 11901 Band applications and demo music may also be emailed to Peter Strecker at pstrecker@southamptontownny.gov. Qualifying bands must have at least one high school student who resides in the Town of Southampton, and a band must consist of a minimum of 3 performing musicians.     Southampton Town’s Youth Court is a great way to earn community service credits and build your college resume! High school students from local schools work together to hold real trials for juvenile offenders, where all the facts of the case are heard and the jury decides on a disposition, or “sentence,” for the offender to repair the harm they have caused to the victims. Cases range from trespassing, driving without a license, and underage drinking to harassment, possession, and theft, among others. Students in grades 9–12 living or attending school in the Town of Southampton can participate. General Youth Court meetings are held on Mondays from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM at the Southampton Town Justice Court, 32 Jackson Avenue.     The Town of Southampton Youth Bureau and Peconic Ballet Foundation will be hosting Dance with Project LEAP (Learn, Empower, Achieve, Perform) every Thursday from 4:30pm – 5:30pm (November 6th – May 30th) at the Flanders Youth Center, 655 Flanders Road. Class will not be held on November 27th, December 11th, December 25th, and January 1st). Professional dance instructors from the Peconic Ballet Foundation will teach Ballet while encouraging exercise, confidence building, creativity, and having fun! Previous experience is not necessary to join. Dance with Project LEAP is open to ages 7 – 9 and the cost to attend is $40 for the entire program. A ballet performance will be scheduled for Saturday, May 30th at the Peconic Ballet Theatre at 6:30pm. Space is very limited and registration is ongoing until Monday, December 1st.
