Solarize Southampton is a Town Program that provides a bulk discount on residential solar from a solar installer vetted by the Town and NYSERDA. The Solarize approach allows groups of homeowners or businesses to work together to collectively negotiate rates, competitively select an installer, and increase demand through a creative limited-time offer. Solarize programs simplify solar processes, educate the public, reduce costs, alleviate stress, and promote a strong sense of community. LI Green Homes
The Long Island Green Homes Initiative is a non-profit collaborative partnership of Long Island Towns, community-based organizations and Molloy College funded primarily with a community outreach grant awarded by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) in order to help Long Islanders improve their homes and use energy more wisely in their everyday lives. Town of Southampton’s Nissan Leaf
Southampton has recently purchased two Nissan Leafs for use by town staff needing to utilize vehicles for town business. In anticipation of future demand, the Town is also planning to install charging stations throughout the community for use by owners of electric cars and municipal vehicles.
New York Power Authority
The New York Power Authority (NYPA) has helped make NY State a pacesetter in electric-drive and clean transportation technologies. Working with customers, NYPA has helped place thousands of electric and hybrid-electric vehicles into service. Tom Dejesu, director of government and regulatory affairs will showcase an electric vehicle and charging station at the NYPA Exhibit.
NYSERDA
Clean energy can power New York while protecting the environment. The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, known as NYSERDA, promotes energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources. These efforts are key to developing a less polluting and more reliable and affordable energy system for all New Yorkers. Collectively, NYSERDA’s efforts aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, accelerate economic growth, and reduce customer energy bills. Many of the town’s energy related programs are funded by NYSERDA grants.
Quiet Community Landscaping
The first Town of Southampton Green Zone is located at the East Quogue Village Green in the hamlet of East Quogue. Quiet Communities (QC) is an independent non-profit organization. Our mission is to transition landscape maintenance to low noise, zero emissions practices with positive solutions to protect the health of workers, children, the public and the environment. We provide research, education, outreach, and solutions, working collaboratively with communities, businesses, schools, and government agencies.
Jamie Banks, PhD, MS
As Executive Director of Quiet Communities, Dr. Banks is an environmentalist and health care scientist with a background in health outcomes and economics, environmental behavior, and policy. She currently teaches the Energy, Pollution, and Climate Change course section for NOFA’s Organic Land Care accreditation program and is the author of several peer reviewed publications. Her graduate degrees are from MIT, Dartmouth Medical School, and University of Kent (UK).

Electric Vehicle Owners Corner
Dennis Rowan, CEO, Rowan Energy, will answer your questions about EV ownership at the EV Owners' exhibit. Rowan Energy Integration designs energy efficiency programs to lower energy consumption and costs. Following the core energy principle of Reduce, Recycle and Renew, Rowan implements programs to save energy and prevent local air pollution. Rowan helped launch the first Electric Vehicle managed charging network in the PJM grid. Rowan designs programs where Electric vehicle fleets utilize local solar energy to create economic, energy and environmental savings for corporate, government and educational clients.
Variable Speed Pool Pump
Isch Michel will be in the Energy Efficiency Exhibit and answer questions concerning variable speed pool pumps. Ian’s business Sparkling Pools and Harbor Hot Tubs is dedicated to providing tranquility, balance and private-custom-designed oasis for a loyal clientele. At the event, Isch will discuss what is involved in replacing your old pool pump with a variable speed model and share info regarding rebates available.
PeakPower LI
Meet Lynn Arthur, the coordinator of this event and chair of the Sustainable Southampton Town’s Energy Committee. PeakPower LI is currently under contract to deliver programs and constituent outreach for home energy efficiency and rooftop solar programs. PeakPower LI is a local not-for-profit who’s mission involves constituent engagement and renewable energy solutions that reduce Load.
Boy Scout Troops
483 Hampton Bays and 58 Southampton
Scouts from both troops will kick off the day with a Flag ceremony on the stage in the park.
Town Board, Department of Municipal Works, Land Management Department, members of the Green Advisory Committee and the Supervisors’ Office are separately and collectively focused on reducing the use of fossil fuels in Southampton.
The Tri-Energy EV and Hybrid Car Expo seeks to promote a community wide effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 80% by 2050 and to create a sustainable community that conserves its natural resources.
The town has a goal of achieving 100% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2025. Public education via events like this increase awareness of energy related issues affecting Long Island which has impact on the environment and our local economy. By helping residents learn about the benefits of shifting to more fuel efficient cars, charging those cars from rooftop solar and measuring the impact, the town will help New York State reach its goal of reducing emissions and improve the quality of life for all responsible for environmental stewardship.
